Green Tea DietThe green tea diet first became popular when westerns were still fascinated with the mystical world of the east. Panaceas of all sorts started to emerge from the Far East with promises to cure any affliction after World War II. Including the promise for you to lose weight with this 'special' tea. There have been many different types of diet tea ranging from green tea, to wu long tea (oolong), to herbal teas. But do these diet teas really work? The simple answer is yes, but not in the way that you think of. First let me explain that tea is tea. White tea, green tea, oolong tea, and black tea are all made from the same plant. The reason they are different in the end is the process they use to darken them. This process does change some of the properties of the tea mainly the amount of caffeine but not much else. So "Diet Green Tea" is just green tea in a box that says diet on it, you should never pay more for special diet teas. Tea can help you with your diet in several ways the main way are is that tea is a diuretic. This means that it will help ‘expel’ excess water in your body. I don't think a detail explanation of 'expel' is needed. This process of 'expelling' is actually a great benefit of tea over other diuretics since it's cleansing your body in a healthy manner. So you will lose some weight just from expelling excess water in your body. But once that water is gone so will the drastic weight loss. But the simple fact of it is that if your drink green tea instead of other unhealthy drinks while on your diet you will continue to lose weight and will be healthier for it. Green Teas
